How Do You Make Essential Oil From Rosemary?
Rosemary is a distinctively fragrant plant that can be used to make essential oil. Essential oils are used to add fragrances to perfumes, body lotions and soaps. The scent can be extracted from a flower or plant. One way to make essential oil is to lay fragrant flower petals over animal fat, which draws out the essential oil of the flower. Instead of fat, olive oil can be used to make essential oils at home. Step 1 Cut enough fresh rosemary to fill your jar. Step 2 Wash the rosemary in water, and allow to completely dry. Step 3 Pack the clean jar with the clean rosemary. Step 4 Fill the jar with olive oil, until the rosemary is completely covered. Secure the lid on the jar. Step 5 Place the jar in a sunny window for about a month. Step 6 Strain the infused oil into a clean jar. Throw away the pieces of rosemary plant that have been separated from the oil during the straining.
