How Do You Make Egg Carton Fire Starters?

0

Tired of wadding up newspaper to get your fireplace started? You can easily make your own firestarters from things you already have! Fill each egg space in your egg carton with dryer lint. Don’t pack it too tightly…I just pinch off a chunk and stuff it in. Melt the wax. I use an old pan that I keep around for this purpose. You can also use a good pan with about 2 inches of water, then place an old coffee can inside to hold the wax. Watch the melting wax carefully and don’t let it get too hot. Carefully pour the melted wax into the egg carton, filling the indentations. Set the carton aside to cool. Tear apart your cooled firestarters. To make a fire that starts every time, use clean, dry firewood and place two base logs on your grate, put two firestarters in the crack between them, light them, then put a third log on top over the firestarters.
