How Do You Make Easy Roasted Garlic?
Think you can’t make fancy roasted garlic? It is incredibly easy, and so tasty! The roasting process mellows the flavor of the garlic, so it’s not as pungent as you might expect. The resulting roasted garlic paste is fabulous on toasted bread or rolls and is great added to mashed potatoes. Once you try it, you’ll find plenty of ways to use it! Pre heat the oven to 350 degrees. Remove any loose paper skin from the bulbs, but do not completely peel the bulb or separate the cloves. Slice the tops off the garlic bulbs, horizontally. Set the tops aside for another use. (See tip.) Loosely wrap the bulbs in the aluminum foil and seal up the top and sides. Place the foil packet on the center rack in the oven and roast for 1 hour. Remove the foil packet from the oven and allow the packet to cool, slightly. Unwrap the bulbs and discard the foil. When the bulbs are cool enough to handle, squeeze each bulb to release the roasted garlic paste from the inside. A butter knife may be helpful in slicin
