To make a paper airplane fly fast and far, it is helpful to make a basic airplane called the “Arrow”. This straight, sharp paper plane will glide over the air for long distances. Place a piece of 8.5 by 11inch paper in front of you lengthwise. Fold the paper in half lengthwise and press the edge down firmly with your finger. Fold down the top corner of the paper so that the flat edge of the corner lines up with the folded center edge. Press down the newly formed edge with your finger. Repeat this with the corner on the opposite side of the paper. You will now have the beginning shape for the paper airplane.
