How Do You Make Easy Old Fashioned Tea Cakes?

0

I use to love when my Grandmother would make old fashioned tea cakes. It was a treat for all of us grandkids. Recently, I ran across this recipe. It reminds me so much of hers. If you like tea cakes then you have to try these. First, mix all the ingredients together and chill. I usually stick it in the fridge for 15 to 30 minutes. Next, roll the dough into small balls about the size of a walnut. Then flatten with the bottom of a glass. Grease or spray cookie sheet with a cooking spray so they don’t stick. If you have a SILPAT sheet, they are wonderful to bake your cookies on. A SILPAT is a silicon baking sheet that is used as a liner for your cookie sheets. They keep the bottom of the cookies from getting too brown. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
