This recipe has been passed down in my family for many years. It is so easy to make and has few ingredients and the taste is wonderful. First you will need to sterilize your canning jars. Next I get a flat baking dish or bowl to place my flat lids in. I have these ready so that halfway through the cooking process I pour boiling water on them. This helps to sterilize the lids and makes sure that the jars seal. Second, mix your applesauce, sugar, vinegar and red hots together in a large pot and cook until boiling. Constantly stir the mixture with a wooden spoon to keep from sticking. Once the boiling starts you will need to continue cooking for 20 minutes stirring the entire time. Your arm may get a little tired but it is worth it. Halfway through this process don’t forget to pour some boiling water on top of you lids. After the 20 minutes of boiling are up you will need to put the mixture in your sterilized jars. I fill the jars to about ΒΌ of an inch from the top. Clean any dripped appl
