September is the time of year that gardeners end up with loads of tomatoes. What to do with them is an art! Green tomato pickles are fantastic but there are other recipes to try! Fried tomatoes and homemade biscuits are a feast for a king! I like them when they are just starting to turn red but if you have some that are all red they are delicious too! If you are on a gluten free diet, you can use corn starch in the place of flour but use some extra seasoning. Any way you prepare these tomatoes it is a treat! Make more than you think you will need because they always disappear! Step 1 Wash the tomatoes and slice 1/4 inch thick. Step 2 Dredge tomato slices in flour on both sides. Heat oil in fry pan on med/high heat. Step 3 Place floured tomatoes in fry pan with heated oil covering the bottom of the pan. Let the tomatoes cook on one side until flour is turning brown.
