How Do You Make Double Decadence Chocolate Chip Brownies?
The combination of melted chocolate and chocolate chips makes the double decadence in these brownies from the Quaker Oatmeal Kitchens. This recipe makes 2 dozen brownies. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Beat sugar, butter or margarine, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Melt 1 cup chocolate chips in a double boiler or in the microwave on medium power for 30 seconds at a time, stirring until smooth. (In the microwave, chips will appear to hold their shape when they are actually melted.) Stir chocolate into the butter/sugar mixture. Add flour, oats, baking powder, remaining chocolate chips and nuts and mix well. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies pull away from the sides of pan. Cool completely, then sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into bars.
