Dollhouse miniatures artists use polymer clay to make realistic household items. Polymer clay can be shaped into food, tableware and serving pieces for a holiday dinner. You can make translucent paint from polymer clay to create regular and stained glass windows and glass blocks. Polymer clay can even be used to make shower doors or glass cabinet fronts and table tops. Flatten a 1/2-inch-diameter ball of polymer clay into a 1-inch-diameter circle. Prick holes all over it with a bamboo skewer. Place the clay disk in a 35 mm film canister. Fill to one-third with synthetic-based paint thinner. Allow to sit overnight. Stir the mixture well. Use it to mold items, make sheets of clear and colored glass and create glass blocks. Cut a 1 1/2-by-1-by-1/2-inch piece of Styrofoam sheet. Wrap it in aluminum foil to create a miniature bread pan. Place on a baking sheet with the open side facing up. Bake at 270 degrees Fahrenheit for 16 to 20 minutes, until the Styrofoam shrinks. Allow to cool. Coat
