A new idea to jazz up this older style and completely change the look of the curtain, but still have the same privacy and light control, is to change the header, add in a decorative rod and run a beautiful trim down the side of the panel. This style of curtain is more of a modern take on the older style of a pinch pleated drape. Cut drapery fabric to fit window measurements, adding four inches at the top for a header and four inches at the bottom for a hem. Cut standard black-out liner and sew it to the back of the drapery panel. Fold over the header and hem in the back, and use a sewing machine to sew it all together.
