How Do You Make Delicious Seafood Gumbo?
Every family in New Orleans has their own version of Seafood Gumbo. There are so many different ways to make it. Here is a Seafood Gumbo that is hearty and delicious! Heat the oil in a large pot over medium low heat. Add the flour and cook for 10-12 minutes, stir constantly. Add the onion, green pepper, garlic and parsley. Cook until onion is translucent. Add the broth. Stir to dissolve flour. Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, pepper, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1 hour. Coat a large non stick skillet with non stick cooking spray. Place over medium heat until hot enough for drops of water to dance on the surface. Add the okra and cook for about 5 minutes or until it’s tender. Keep stirring. Add the okra to the pot. Stir to mix. Add the crab and shrimp. Stir to mix. Cook for 4-5 more minutes or until crab meat and shrimp are heated all the way through. Remove gumbo from heat and discard the bay leaves. Serve hot and enjoy!
