How Do You Make Delicious Chocolate Bourbon Balls?
This vintage recipe is straight from Grandma’s archives. Here’s how to make these tasty Bourbon (or rum) Balls without baking or boiling. A Holiday Favorite from Thanksgiving to New Year’s, and a great gift idea! Ingredients: 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1/3 cup bourbon (or rum) 1/4 cup Karo’s light corn syrup 2 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers (you can use a food processor or rolling pin to crush) 3 Tblsp Hershey’s cocoa 1 cup chopped pecans Combine 1 cup sugar, cocoa, pecans and wafers in large bowl. Add in bourbon and corn syrup and mix well. ** Set aside 1/4 cup powdered sugar to use as the outer coating. Form med. size balls by rolling the mixture in your hands (you can dust your hands with powdered sugar to prevent sticking). Put the remainder 1/4 cup powdered sugar on a separate plate to roll the balls in so they are coated Set finished balls on waxed paper. Once you have completed the entire batch, line a decorative tin with waxed paper and add in the bourbon balls.
