How Do You Make Decoupaged Plant Markers?
You can easily make colorful and interesting plant markers for your garden or potted plants. They will remind you where you planted you seeds and add visual interest to your garden even before the plants bloom. Cut wood squares or rectangles from balsa wood to use as the tag where you will attach the images. Or, you can use pre-cut wood shapes. Sand any rough edges of the wood and wipe away dust. If you want a painted background, paint the markers with two coats of exterior paint. Sand and wipe away dust after each coat. Find images to use on your plant markers. Download images from the Internet. Size them in Word or with a graphic design software package like Photoshop. You can also use images from books, magazine, seed packets and catalogs. Clip the images and cut to size. Soak the paper in water for a few minutes, until it stops curling and loses any wrinkles. Apply glue or Mod Podge to the wood tag. Press the image into place. Smooth out any bubbles with your fingers or a sponge. W
