There are many types of decorative molds you can make with concrete. Concrete is both durable and versatile in its ability to be both functional and ornamental for outdoor decor. It can hold decorative objects within its casting, as well as be molded into the shape or structure of a simple object, such as a leaf. Making leaf molds can enhance the natural look of a garden, while still bringing out decorative elements which are unique to the homeowner’s style. Find a leaf. Make sure it has a pronounced vein system so it will show up in the mold. The size of the leaf is up to you. Pile sand or dirt. Onto a table top, pile some dirt or sand into a small mound. Do not make a mountain, rather an evenly piled mound of sand or dirt. Then cover the pile with a plastic trash bag. Set the leaf.
