Step 1 Pre-wash the cloth diapers and fabric with a detergent that is safe for baby, and then place both in the dryer so that they shrink however much they are going to shrink. Don’t skip this step because otherwise, the first time you wash the completed burp cloths, your seams might pucker, or even come undone from shrinkage.
