How Do You Make Debs Cheeseburger & Rice Casserole?
Hungry kids need real (non-frozen) food but who wants to stand over a hot stove for hours? This is an easy and quick casserole which calls for 15 minutes at the stove and then 35 minutes in the oven while I have a chance to relax after a hard day… Plus the family LOVES IT! What a life… Cook and stir beef in a 3 qt metal saucepan over medium heat. (Use a potato masher while ground beef is cooking) Cook approximately 10 minutes until beef is crumbled and brown. Drain of fat. Add onion powder, tomato sauce, tomato paste, 1 tsp salt, Worcestershire, Lemon pepper, and Beef bouillon and cook an additional 3-4 minutes Preheat oven to 350˚F and boil 3 cups of water in a saucepan or tea kettle. (Note: Do not boil the water in the microwave, because it cools off too quickly). Pour the boiling water and butter into the 3 Qt Casserole dish or 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
