Making your own shower curtain is an inexpensive way to customize your bathroom. This article is written with the standard bathroom in mind. Most shower curtains measure 72 inches by 72 inches square. However, you can change this to what ever measurement you need. Just remember to adjust the amount of fabric you need. Purchase your fabric. If it has a pattern, make sure that you have at least one pattern repeat. Cut two panels of fabric 88″ long. This will allow for 8 inches of hem on each end. Take one panel and cut it in half lengthwise. Pin the right sides of each half of the split panel to the right side of the full-sized panel. Make sure the patterns line up. Sewing the panels together using a 1/2 inch seam allowance along the selvage edge. On each side edge, turn the edge under 1/2 inch, then another 1/2 inch and hem.
