How do you make cuban coffee?
1. Use a good stovetop espresso maker (Moka pot). Bialetti Brikka is ideal.
2. Use Cuban style coffee like Bustelo or Pilon. If you cannot get any authentic Cuban coffee, use dark roasted Colombian coffee instead.
3. Mix the coffee grounds with raw sugar. Do not use white sugar.
4. Fill the bottom part of the Moka pot with cold water.
5. Insert the metallic filter into the bottom part of the Moka pot and fill it with the coffee-sugar mixture. Put in as much of the mixture as possible but do not tamp it.
6. Screw the top part of the Moka pot on.
7. Place the Moka pot on the stove and heat it up gently using low heat.
8. Remove the Moka pot from heat once all of the coffee reaches the top chamber.
9. Pour the coffee into tiny cups and enjoy!
