How Do You Make Crushed Cookies For Dessert Recipes Without A Blender?

0

Many dessert recipes call for crushed cookies such as vanilla wafers, chocolate cookies, or crackers. Here is an easy kitchen technique to make crushed cookies without using an electric blender. Get a plastic bag like a Ziploc bag or other food storage plastic bag that will seal tightly and that is made of thicker plastic. Thin plastic bags will tear open and make a mess. The bag does not need to be big enough to hold all the cookies as it is best to crush them a few at a time. This kitchen technique can also be used to crush potato chips, crackers, croutons, or toasted bread pieces for bread crumbs. Put some of the cookies into the bag so that it is only just half full. Be sure to get all the air out of the bag before sealing it or it will pop open when pressed down on to crush the cookies. Make sure the bag is sealed shut. By not using a blender not only will it save on the electricity that would have been used to run it but also on the electricity, time and effort that it would take
