How Do You Make Crunchy Peanut Butter Balls?
These quick, simple peanut butter balls are perfect for a rainy day project or a quick afternoon snack. I recently made them with my 4-year-old and 3-year-old, who loved rolling the balls around in powdered sugar. If the peanut butter is cold, warm it in the microwave until it’s a bit runny. Drizzle in the honey – this recipe isn’t exact at all, so it’s all up to your tastes – and mix with a plastic spoon. While the peanut butter and honey mixture is still warm, dump in your cereal of choice. My kids like plain Corn Flakes, but you could also use Raisin Bran or Cheerios. Mix the cereal with the peanut butter and honey mixture. It should be just sticky enough to hold together, but not enough to stick to your fingers. With everything thoroughly mixed, form golf-ball sized or smaller balls and roll them lightly in powdered sugar. Set them on a foil or waxed paper lined pan, and chill for about an hour. Store in a zip-top bag or plastic container in the fridge.
