How Do You Make Crown Molding With A Router?

0

This is how to make crown molding with a router. I have done this before and it worked out well. Step 1 The first step is to go to the hardware store and find the proper crown molding router bit or combination of two bits. I made fairly simple crown molding so I found a bit at Ace Hardware that worked great for me. Step 2 Now we need to mount our router to a router table so we can set the fence to the right depth to make the molding perfect. Now we need to select the type of wood for our crown molding. I used pine because I planned on painting it, many people use oak or maple. Step 3 Now we need to use a scrap piece of wood to adjust the router bit to the right height and depth. Once you think you have it perfect run a 1 foot piece of the real wood you are going to use to test it. I have found it was off after I wasted a 8 foot piece of good wood.
