This is a great way to make customized, inexpensive curtain rods on the cheap. Some of the materials you need (spray paint, super glue) will last you enough to make rods for your entire house! You should be able to get $10-15 curtain rods from this DIY project. Visualize and take measurements with your tape measure. Is your room small? Then you probably want a curtain rod and curtains that aren’t much wider than your window frame – say 2 inches wider on each side. If your room is larger, add 4 inches to each side of your window frame to get the right length. Get a 3/4 inch wood dowel from the hardware store, and have them cut it to the appropriate length. If they won’t do this for you, use a small wood saw to do the job at home. Use a piece of fine grit sandpaper (I like 3M general purpose fine sandpaper) to sand down any rough edges. Also get 3 curtain brackets and a can of spray paint from the hardware store. Make sure your dowel fits nicely into the brackets. Nothing compares to Kry
