Made with crescent rolls they can be served with whip cream or ice cream, tasty but not too sweet. They can be frozen or chilled; ready for a light snack on the run. Cream cheese apple turnovers are great as a picnic treat or dinner dessert. This recipe is for two servings. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place two pairs of crescent rolls on an oiled oven sheet. Smooth with spoon to rectangle shape without holes. Spread on soft cream cheese. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Pre-cook coarsely diced apples, brown sugar, sherry, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and salt. Let it cook down and come to a boil for a few minutes to start carmelizing.
