How Do You Make Colorful Fireplace Flames?
If you enjoy watching a fire dance in a fireplace, learn to make colorful fireplace flames for added enjoyment. It is simple and inexpensive to make the flames different colors and most of the necessary ingredients are available at your local grocery store. Colored flames are fun for holidays, parties or just for a relaxing evening at home. Order chemicals that you’ll need to make your colorful fireplace flames. A good source is the Chemistry store. (See link in Resources.) Mix 1 pint of liquid glue into 7 pints of water in a large pail or bucket. Crush the chemical into a fine powder. Place it into a plastic bag and crush it with a rolling pin, or use a mortar and a pestle. Add the chemical into glue water using a ratio of approximately 1 pound chemical to 1 gallon of glue water. Stir the chemical into the water until it is completely mixed using a large mixing spoon or wooden paint stirrer. Place the pine cones into the mixture.
