How do you Make Coffee in a French Press?
The French Press is making coffee the old fashioned way. You put the amount of ground coffee you want into the bottom of the carafe. If you have a Burr Grinder, you should use a coarse grind for the best results. I used a Breville Burr Grinder on the course setting to make a grind specifically for the French Press. Finer grinds end up in your coffee cup. I wouldn’t recommend a French Press for store bought ground coffee. Fill the carafe with boiling hot water. Put the lid on with the plunger in the up position. Wait five minutes for the grounds to steep in the hot water. Now slowly push the plunger down pushing the grinds to the bottom. Pour your cup of coffee, holding the lid in place. (or learn the hard way like I did and allow the lid to fall off and spill hot coffee all over your hand and arm and counter top). Is it Easy to Clean?
