How Do You Make Clothes For Paper Dolls?
Paper dolls and their clothes aren’t on Toys R UsĀ® shelves, but they should be. Have you every seen your daughter (or son) draw clothes ideas with different styles and colors? My daughter did and that brought on a great idea. Why not make our own paper dolls and dress them up with the clothes that she designs? What a great way for her to express creativity and change her ideas whenever she wanted! When I mentioned the idea to her, she was excited to get on with it. Here’s what we did: The basic item is the doll. We had to cross that hurdle before we started designing our hearts out. Sturdy, but pliable material is needed to create a doll that would last. We tried construction paper reinforced with sticks, but that didn’t last long. I tried laminating card stock paper, but after it creases, there’s no hope to see the doll stand straight again.
