How Do You Make Chrome Car Polish?
An alternative to purchasing expensive ($8 to $16) automobile chrome polish is to use equally effective and considerably less expensive chrome polishes made from products available in most homes. One effective polish made from items available in the home pantry works well and costs pennies to mix. After the automobile has been washed and dried, apply a light coat of toothpaste containing baking soda to all chrome surfaces. Using soft rag, wipe toothpaste from chrome to remove and deposits of residue or light oxidation. Unroll and tear off 12 inches of heavy duty aluminum foil and fold this sheet in half with the shiny side out. Fold this sheet in half also with the shiny side out to make a 3-inch wide buffing sheet.
