How Do You Make Cholesterol Free Eggs?
Eggs are a delicious staple in the home and a key player in a nutritious breakfast. Eggs are also packed with cholesterol–approximately 214mg per one large egg–and may not be the best choice for a cholesterol-conscious diet. Luckily, all of the cholesterol in eggs is found in the yolks. You can make your own cholesterol-free eggs. It is a simple and easy process that can help you return to enjoying one of your favorite breakfast foods. Separate four egg whites from their yolks and place the whites in a bowl. Scramble egg whites until they are well-beaten, about thirty seconds. Add 2 tbsp. dry soy powder to egg mixture and stir until it is dissolved. Add an additional 2 tbsp. of water. Stir into mix. Refrigerate or freeze until ready to use. Add diced vegetables, herbs and soy cheese to create an omelet, if desired. Vegetables and herbs are cholesterol-free, as is the soy cheese.
