How Do You Make Chocolate Peppermint Cookies?
A friend of mine introduced me to these fun holiday cookies and I’ve been in love with them ever since. Enjoy. Take your candy canes and break them into small pieces, putting them into the plastic bag. Wrap the kitchen towel around the bag and beat with the mallet. You want to crush the candy canes into small bits and pieces and dust. Once the candy pieces are crushed enough, pour into one of the small bowls. Refrigerate (or it will stick together). (This is the easiest, cleanest way I’ve found to crush the candy cane, it gets into everything if you don’t keep it covered up when smashing it.) Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in the other small mixing bowl. In the large mixing bowl, add the butter, brown and white sugars and beat until fluffy.
