Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine dry ingredients in small bowl and set aside. In large bowl, cream granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter or margarine and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until blended. Slowly add dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread in an even layer in jelly roll pan or cookie sheet. If using a jelly roll pan, cookie dough will fill the entire pan. If using cookie sheet, dough will only reach about three-quarters of the length of the pan, and this outside edge may get slightly crisper. This edge may be trimmed off when you cut the bars.
