How Do You Make Chocolate Bark Candy?
This should be the first project for anyone starting a candy making hobby or business. It is very easy to do and is a great introduction to further candy making activities. Unwrap the butterscotch discs. How much you use is up to you (usually a half a bag will do – about 8 oz.). Take some wax paper and place the unwrapped butterscotch discs on it. Fold the other half of the wax paper over the unwrapped discs. Using the hammer, break up the discs by smashing them. You will want them in very small pieces. Break up the chocolate by bending it until it breaks. Place the pieces in the double boiler. Try to distribute them evenly around the pot. Set the temperature to medium to start with. As the chocolate pieces begin to melt, stir almost constantly making sure the chocolate does not burn. When the bottom of the pan has melted chocolate in it, place the heat down to low.
