How Do You Make Cheap Furniture Look Expensive?
The right piece of furniture can add a dramatic element and serve as the focal point of a room by drawing the eye to it (see Reference 1.) Upscale designer furniture can be expensive, so choosing a well-made piece on a tight budget can be daunting. With a little creativity, you can use inexpensive materials purchased at a local hardware store to refinish and update used furniture. Take the credenza outside and put down some floor protection. Take the drawers out of the credenza and use a screwdriver to remove the existing pull handles. Prep the surface by cleaning it with soap and water to remove dirt, grease, oil or other chemicals. Using the roller brush, apply primer to the credenza and drawer fronts (see Reference 3). Let the primer dry, about 30 minutes to one hour. Put on safety goggles, latex gloves and a face mask. Attach the Rust-Oleum
