How Do You Make Catfish Dough Bait?
Fisherman like to tell stories about those monstrous catfish they’ve battled and reeled in over the years, and while many of those stories may seem unbelievable, the fishermen who tell them often swear by their methods. Catfish tend to be big eaters, and you can catch them with a variety of bait, but dough bait is a favored treat. Making your own catfish dough bait may require a little work on your part, but when you start reeling in the big catches, you’ll find it was a job worth your time. Pour 1 cup of soda water into a medium saucepan and set on medium heat until it starts to simmer. Add chunked hot dogs and cubed cheddar to the blender while you’re waiting for the soda water to simmer. Pulse the blender three to four times to achieve a chopped mixture of the cheese and meat. Mix together 1-1/2 cups of cornmeal, 1 cup of white flour and 4 tbsp. of salt in a mixing bowl. Slowly stir the dry mixture of cornmeal, flour and salt into the simmering pot of soda water until it forms a sti
