How Do You Make Cat Show Curtains?
For most cat shows, rules require exhibitors to cover the top, bottom and three sides of their show cage. Exhibitors normally adhere to this rule by using cat show curtains. The standard cage size is 22 inches by 22 inches by 45 inches. Usually, each presenter gets only half of a regular cage for their cat, thereby making the cage measurement 22 inches by 22 inches by 22 inches. Check your cat show entry packet for details. Cat curtains should be made to fit a standard cage, but you can fold the curtains if you only get half the cage. Most shows will give the option to use both halves of the regular cage. Use a sewing machine to hem the ends of all three pieces of fabric so you do not have frayed ends. If you do not have a sewing machine, hand-sew the ends by folding a 1/2 inch of the edge over and sewing it to the fabric with needle and thread to make a clean edge.
