Do you need to dress up your windows? It’s amazing how much new curtains and a stylish top treatment will add to the décor of your home. Valances and stationery side curtains allow the light in and are easily combined with the other fabrics and textures in your room. Brenthaven valances are a nice addition to make small windows look taller and the variations are endless. Cut face fabric one and one half times the width of the window. Example: 48 inch window will require 72 inches width. The length will be 24 inches. Cut the lining fabric to the same dimensions. Place the two fabrics right sides together and sew across both ends and the bottom. Leave the top open to turn right side out. Turn right side out and press. At the top fold the raw edges of both fabrics in and stitch across. Sew the trim to the sides and bottom edges. Fold the Brenthaven valance in half and mark at the top inside.
