You may purchase pre-shelled peanuts, if desired, but these should also be rinsed before cooking. Place the peanuts in a three quart crock pot, and fill with water. Allow the peanuts to soak for eight hours. Add additional water, as necessary. The peanuts will absorb most of the water, so try to keep it as full as possible by topping off every hour or so.
