How Do You Make Blown Glass Look New?
Blown glass is very collectible, but is prone to being damaged if it is not properly cared for. You may have small collectibles that sit on a shelf collecting dust, a vase that held dirty water for too long, or some lovely glasses that you inherited already cloudy. Because germs and bacteria can live quite well on glass, it’s important to use a non-caustic method to kill them and make your valuable blown glass shine. Fill your spray bottle with pure white vinegar and spray down your blown glass. Let it sit for five minutes and then rinse in the sink with warm water. This will get rid of minerals that might etch your glass. If you have enclosed glass pieces, such as vases or glasses, that have stains in the bottom, fill them halfway with white vinegar and then add 1/2 tsp. of uncooked rice.
