If you have ever eaten at a Restaurant popular in the 1960’s to 1980’s called Big Boy, Azar’s, etc. then you probably loved a slice of their famous Fresh Strawberry Pie. When they closed their restaurants, many of us were disappointed because we’d never be able to eat their famous Hot Fudge Cake or Fresh Strawberry Pie again. I was so excited when I found the Strawberry Pie recipe. Here is a recipe I got from the newspaper years and years ago that tastes just like the famous pie at Big Boy’s. Try it and see. You’ll enjoy a slice of memory lane as well as a slice of heaven. Happy Cooking! In a large saucepan, Combine water, sugar, cornstarch, corn syrup, gelatin, food coloring, and salt. Bring to a Boil and keep stirring mixture starts to thicken. Remove from heat when thickened. Cool. Add berries (if unusually large, cut in half) and stir carefully to coat.
