How Do You Make Better Homemade Cakes (Tips)?

0

These are some general tips to make better homemade cakes. When making a homemade chocolate cake, if you don’t like ones that taste of cocoa–I know I don’t–use pre-melted choclate. They come out tasting much better. Also try it in the frosting. (If you don’t know the exact trade off use a recipe that uses-premelted chocolate). Also substituting baking chocolate for cocoa will also result in a better taste. I prefer ones that give about the same taste as a milk chocolate bar, so semi-sweet or pre-sweetened would be best for tastes like mine. Watch the shortening that is used to make the cake. If one particular brand gives it a funny taste, try using different brands until the taste is eliminated. Also try butter flavored varieties of shortening to eliminate bad taste. (White food dyes–Wilton made one–can make white frosting white again). Use cake flour instead of all-pupose for fluffier cakes. Brands such as Soft-as-Silk work. Adding ingredients can make the difference in a cake. Ad
