How Do You Make Beef Taco Salad For Dinner?
Here is a fabulous recipe I made up that has always gotten great reviews:
Tex-Mex Taco Salad – Serves 4
1 bag assorted lettuce (any hearty mix)
1 large tomato, chopped
10 medium black olives halved
Bite sized pieces of crushed cheese Doritos, enough to make 3/4 cup
8 oz. Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese, shredded
1 lb. ground beef (or turkey can be substituted)
1 medium sweet onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. vegetable or canola oil
1 envelope dry taco seasoning mix
3 Tbsp. chunky salsa
1 small bottle French or Catalina dressed (may used reduced or light versions)
2 Tbps. pickled jalapeno peppers chopped (Optional)
In a medium large Dutch oven or pot, heat oil to medium hight and saute chopped onions until transculcent.
Add ground meat and brown on all sides.
In a separate measuring cup, add 3/4 cup of hot water to dry taco seasoning mix, then add to meat mixture in pot. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until thoroughly cooked. Most of the liquid will be absorbed.
In a large salad or mixing bowl, combine lettuce, tomato, olives, salsa and cheese. Slowly add cooked meat mixture to vegetables and toss together with small bottle of salad dressing. Add crushed Doritos to salad, stir everything together and serve immediately.

This dish is great for children or adults, and can be prepared in 20 to 30 minutes. Preheat a non stick frying pan over medium high heat. Keep in mind that your stove may have different settings, so adjust accordingly. Coat the bottom of the pan with 2 tablespoons of butter. Make sure to rotate the pan so the butter covers the entire cooking surface. Pour in 1 pound of ground beef. Use a fork to keep stirring the meat. Slowly add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper. After the meat begins to brown, lower the temperature to medium heat. Continue to stir the mixture. To add more of a grilled flavor, you can lightly sprinkle the meat with Worcestershire sauce. Pour 2 ounces of shredded lettuce in a bowl. Dice the 2 boiled eggs and add it with the lettuce.
