Whether you want to cover an entire door, or just use the beaded hippie curtain as an accent, you can have a lot of fun personalizing the curtain. Design your curtain. If you plan to have a pattern in the beadwork, plan it out on graph paper. Purchase your beads and other supplies. Temporarily put the curtain rod in place. Measure the length from the rod to within 2 or 3 inches of the floor. Add enough to the length for you to tie the bead on each end. Cut enough pieces of cording to cover the door. Take the curtain rod down. Start on one side of the curtain rod. Tie one length of cording to it. Thread the needle with the end of the cording that’s loose. String the beads according to your design. Use different colors and media, such as glass, plastic, wooden and crystal beads. Tie the last bead off in a knot and hide the end of the cording. Y
