How Do You Make Batter Dipped Fried Fish?
Grilled, broiled and baked are all good choices when it comes to preparing fish. While healthier, none of these preparations beats a good batter-dipped fried fish. Preparing fish for frying is a little more time consuming than the other mentioned methods but will be worth it in the end. Break into the crispy, brown coating to find a succulent and delicious piece of fish. Step 1 Wash fish fillets and pat dry with a paper towel. Season with salt and pepper and set aside. Step 2 Mix together flour, eggs, milk, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. The batter should have the consistency of pancake batter. Step 3 Pour peanut oil into the pan to a depth of at least two inches. Step 4 Dip washed and dried fish into prepared batter. Shake off excess. Drop gently into heated oil. Step 5 Watch fish carefully. When the batter turns a golden brown color remove fish from the pan and drain on paper towels.
