How Do You Make Basic Slice & Bake Refrigerator Cookies?

These are quick and easy to make ahead of time and store in the freezer to use when needed. Refrigerator cookies are a good basic cookie that can be used for decorating on holidays (great fun for the kiddos), or for Church charity projects. Keep some on hand for anytime you need a quick batch of cookies. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Then cream together butter and sugar in a bowl, until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one by one. Add vanilla. Add the dry ingredients slowly to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition. Shape dough into 1 1/2- to 2-inch rolls. Wrap in foil. Chill 3 hours or overnight in refrigerator. Cut into slices 1/8- to 1/4- inch thick. Bake on ungreased baking sheets at 375 degrees 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from baking sheets and cool for 10 minutes before decorating or eating. Enjoy!
