How Do You Make Bacon Fried Rice?
Learn how to make great bacon fried rice, quite possibly the finest breakfast known to man. The night before, cook 6 cups of rice in a rice cooker (I don’t know how to cook rice in a sauce pan). This recipe is best with older, dryer rice that’s been in the fridge for a few days. Making fried rice out of a freshly-cooked batch makes it too gummy and sticky. Chop bacon into small pieces, and dice the onion. Put the bacon in the frying pan over medium heat. Cook for a few minutes (the bacon should not yet be crispy). Add the onions and cook until translucent. If desired, spoon a small amount of the bacon grease out of the pan (not recommended). Break the rice up into smaller chunks and add to the pan. Mix the bacon onion mixture and rice together, until the rice is coated with bacon grease. Add soy sauce to the rice and mix until the rice is light brown in color.
