Baby food jars make a perfect container for candles both decorative and for emergency use. Because baby food jars are made from heat-tempered glass, the heat of the candle will not cause the jars to break or crack. You can make baby food jar candles in an afternoon and have them ready for use anytime you need them. Set the open baby food jars on several layers of newspaper to protect the counter or table from accidental wax spills. Cut the piece of candlewick 2 inches longer than the height of the baby food jar. Wrap one end of the cut candlewick around the center of a toothpick.
