Try varying the dried fruit and nuts used or including the optional additions suggested below to make it your own. Place rice, broth and water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring once. Cover the pan and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook rice until water is absorbed and rice is tender (approximately 35 to 50 minutes). Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for ten minutes. Remove cover and let rice cool to room temperature. Place rice in a large bowl or serving dish.
