How Do You Make Authentic Mexican Salsa Verde?
Have you ever eaten Salsa Verde (green salsa) in a Mexican restaurant and wondered how to make it yourself? Now you can! Use it as a condiment on tacos, meats and eggs, as well as a great dip. Remove the husks from the tomatillos and wash them. Put the tomatillos, garlic and chiles in a saucepan with three cups of water. Add 1 tsp. salt Bring the water to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 8 minutes. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the liquid. Transfer the garlic, chiles, tomatillos and reserved liquid to a blender. Add the cilantro and remaining salt and CAREFULLY puree the mixture. Stir iin the chopped onion and let the sauce cool before serving.
