How Do You Make Apple Pie Caramel Dipped Apples?

Buy good, firm apples such as Granny Smith. Wash apples, remove stems and dry with a kitchen towel. Push one stick into the center of each apple. Push into the top of the apple, where the stem would be. Set apples aside. Unwrap caramels and place with the water in a large microwaveable bowl. Microwave on High until caramels are melted, stirring every minute. Remove caramel mixture from microwave. Hold each apple by the stick and dip into hot caramel sauce, turning to coat. Let excess drip back into pan. Scrape caramel off the bottom of the apple with a knife, or use the edge of the bowl. Place coated apples on a greased baking sheet and put in refrigerator for 15 minutes or more, until caramel is set. Store caramel apples in the refrigerator.
