How Do You Make An Xbox Crossover Cable?

0

The Xbox 360 can show movies and photos and play music from a computer. For this to work, the Xbox 360 must be connected to the Windows-based computer using a crossover cable. This special adaptation of an Ethernet cable will allow the Xbox 360 to connect to the computer without needing a hub or switch. Making and using this cable will not damage the Xbox 360 or the computer and can be disconnected at any time. Take the utility knife and cut the Ethernet cable into two pieces that are roughly the same length. Cut and pull off the casing of the two Ethernet cables from where the cut was made. Take the wire strippers and strip the insulation off of the wires that are now exposed on each half of the Ethernet cables. Place the cut sides of the two Ethernet cables with the exposed wires facing each other. Attach the striped orange wire from the first Ethernet cable to the striped green wire of the second Ethernet cable. Attach the orange wire from the first Ethernet cable to the green wire
