RJ45 cable allows you to connect to a wired network. Buying cables can be costly. However, if you buy the pieces, you can make your own RJ45 cable for less than half the price of buying one. The entire process should take less than five minutes. With your own RJ45 cables you can connect all the computers in your home to your router and share Internet access, files and printers. By making your own cables, you can be certain they are exactly the right length, every time. Insert the Cat 5 cable end into the RJ45 crimping tool wire stripping area. Insert approximately 1 inch of cable into the tool and cut only the coating from the wires. The wires themselves should be untouched.
